Poole Pottery 1970's Map Plate - Dorset


A white earthenware map plate of Dorset. This is a Tony Morris design from the mid-1960's. Marked Dorset Police Crime Prevention to rear.

Dating: 1970's

Shape: A round 9" (23cm) plate.

Design: Poole produced a series of map plates starting with Poole Harbour by Robert Jefferson in 1963 and other designs mainly by Tony Morris. The outlines were transfer printed and then over-painted by hand.

Backstamp: Printed "POOLE England" on the base together with the stylised Poole dolphin. This backstamp was used between 1970 and 1999.


Condition: Excellent condition.
