Poole Pottery 1960's Delphis Packet of Crisps Vase

A rarely found Delphis "Packet of Crisps" vase with an abstract pattern on a burnt orange ground with a sunburst effect to rear.

Dating: 1967 - 1968

Shape: A moulded 8" (20cm) vase commonly known as a "Packet of Crisps". Shape 90 was only produced for a short time between 1967 - 1968 due to a tendency to split in the kiln.

Design: Delphis began as a studio range in 1963 and, although colour palettes were standardised in the 1970's, each piece is a unique expression by the individual artist. The range was withdrawn in 1979.

Backstamp: Printed "POOLE England" on the base together with the Poole dolphin. This backstamp was used between 1966 and 1980.

Painter: Signed with three lines by the paintress Shirley Campbell, who worked on Delphis from 1966 - 1969.

Condition: Very good condition. Some slight glaze misses and other imperfections but no apparent damage.
