Poole Pottery 1930's Geometric Pattern Jug


A good red earthenware jug decorated with a traditional art deco geometric pattern in blue, green and mauve on a white tin glaze ground.

Dating: 1927 - 1934

Shape: A small 3½" (9cm) tall jug, inscribed with shape number 678.

Design: Decorated with a traditional geometric pattern designed by Truda Carter around 1925. Marked with pattern code KZ.

Backstamp: Impressed "POOLE ENGLAND" on the base with a mark used between 1924 and 1950.

Painter: Signed with a monogram by the paintress Myrtle Bond, who worked at Poole from 1927 - 1942.

Condition: Very good condition for age. Light crazing all over.
