Poole Pottery 1930's Traditional Vase UL Pattern

A sweet white earthenware miniature trumpet vase with a traditional abstract floral pattern on a pastel pink ground.

Dating: 1935 - 1936

Shape: A 4" (10cm) tall fluted posy vase inscribed with shape number 510.

Design: Decorated with a mid-1930's design, probably by Truda Carter, featuring stylised flora.

Backstamp: Impressed "POOLE ENGLAND" on the base with a mark used between 1924 and 1950.

Painter: Signed with a mark which looks like that used by the paintress Gladys Jeffery. Her dates are recorded as 1926 - 1930 but the mark is found on pieces dating as late as c.1936 so either the record is wrong or an unknown person used this mark later.

Condition: Very good condition. Light crazing, a couple of pin-pricks internally, some roughness around base rim.
