Poole Pottery 1930's Traditional Vase PB


A fabulous red earthenware vase elaborately decorated with a traditional Truda Carter art deco bluebird pattern.

Dating: 1929 - 1934

Shape: A 6" (15cm) bulbous vase impressed with shape number 266. Probably designed by John Adams c. 1929 - 1930.

Design: Decorated with a great traditional pattern PB, one of a series of floral and bluebird patterns designed by Truda Carter in the late 1920's and early 1930's.

Backstamp: Impressed "POOLE ENGLAND" on the base with a mark used between 1924 and 1950.

Painter: Signed with a monogram by the paintress Marian Heath, who worked at Poole from 1925 - 1938.

Condition: Very good condition for age. Light crazing. Hexagonal factory control mark to base.
