An attractive red earthenware vase with a popularTruda Carter blue bird pattern from the art deco period.
Dating: 1927 - 1934
Shape: A flared vase measuring 5½" (14cm) tall with a maximum diameter of 4¾" (12cm). Shape number 199 incised to base..
Design: Decorated with a great traditional pattern PB, one of a series of floral and bluebird patterns designed by Truda Carter in the late 1920's and early 1930's.
Backstamp: Impressed "POOLE ENGLAND" on the base with backstamp 19, which was used between 1924 and 1950.
Painter: Signed with a monogram by the paintress Eileen Prangnell, who worked at Poole from 1924 - 1937.
Condition: Fair condition. Crazing, some heavy, and extensive blue staining internally and externally.
