Poole Pottery 2007 Trial Sun Face Charger

A fantastic version of the Limited Edition Sun Face charger in a trial colourway. Based on an original design by Tony Morris this was the first major limited edition by the Quay studio, and retailed at £225.

Dating: 2007

Shape: A 12" (30cm) diameter charger.

Design: Poole Studio was revived in 1995 to produce one-off or limited edition pieces by skilled designers, such as Sally Tuffin, Janice Tchalenko, Karen Brown, Alan White, Alan Clarke, Nikki Massarella and Tony Morris. A descendent of this unit still exists in the Quay shop today.

Backstamp: Inscribed Poole AW (for master potter Alan White), together with "Limited Edition Sun Plate 50" to base.

Painter: Signed by the paintress Nicola Massarella, a long-standing Poole employee from 1982. "Nikki" continues to be employed in the Poole Quay studio.
