Poole Pottery 1970's Pin Dish


A cheerful Delphis pin dish with a vibrant abstract pattern in the more varied colour palette used just before standardisation in the 1970's.

Dating: 1970

Shape: A small round 5" (13cm) dish, printed with shape number 49.

Design: Delphis began as a studio range in 1963 and, although colour palettes were standardised in the 1970's, each piece is a unique expression by the individual artist. The range was withdrawn in 1979.

Backstamp: Printed "POOLE England" on the base together with the Poole dolphin. This backstamp was used between 1966 and 1980.

Painter: Signed SW by the paintress Sarah Worrell, who worked at Poole in 1970 only.

Condition: Excellent condition
