Poole Pottery 1960's Trapesium Dish


A vibrant Delphis dish with a typical abstract pattern in a 1960's colour palette by a popular paintress. Some orange peel effect to glaze.

Dating: 1966 - 1969

Shape: A trapesium shaped sweet dish with a maximum diameter of 7" (18cm). Printed with shape number 81.

Design: Delphis began as a studio range in 1963 and, although colour palettes were standardised in the 1970's, each piece is a unique expression by the individual artist. The range was withdrawn in 1979.

Backstamp: Printed "POOLE England" on the base together with the Poole dolphin. This backstamp was used between 1966 and 1980.

Painter: Signed with a monogram by Jean Millership, an art school trained paintress who worked at Poole from 1966 - 1969.

Condition: Good display condition. Rear has staining, crazing and slight fritting to base rim.
