Poole Pottery 1960's Delphis Dish


An early blue backstamp Delphis dish in a dark and mysterious colour palette with flashes of deep green, blue and light orange peeking through.

Dating: 1966 - 1967

Shape: A round 8" (20cm) dish

Design: Delphis began as a studio range in 1963 and, although colour palettes were standardised in the 1970's, each piece is a unique expression by the individual artist. The range was withdrawn in 1979.

Backstamp: Printed "POOLE England" on the base together with the Poole dolphin. This backstamp was used between 1966 and 1980.

Painter: Signed with a mark by the paintress Betty Bantten, who worked on the Delphis section at Poole from 1966 - 1967.

Condition: Excellent original condition
