Poole Pottery 1920's CSA Pair Coffee Cups/Saucers


A sweet pair of red earthenware coffee cups with matching saucers and decorated with a simple but effective floral sprig.

Dating: 1926 - 1927

Shape: A 2¼" (6cm) Coffee Cup inscribed with shape number 664 and a matching 4¾" (12cm) saucer, shape 665.

Design: Decorated with a simple floral sprig, pattern code BF, an early Truda Adams design from c.1925.

Backstamp: Impressed CARTER STABLER ADAMS LD, POOLE ENGLAND to base. This rare backstamp (LD rather than LTD) was used between 1925 - 1927 only.

Painter: Signed with a mark by the paintress Rene Hayes, who worked at Poole from 1926 - 1940 and again from 1945 - 1949.

Condition: Very good condition for age. Crazing and production blemishes as is common for this period.
