Poole Pottery 1930's Pastel Green Vase UN Pattern


An elegant and hard to find white earthenware vase with a traditional abstract floral pattern on a pastel green ground.

Dating: c. 1935

Shape: A 6" (15cm) bulbous vase impressed with shape number 266. Probably designed by John Adams c. 1929 - 1930.

Design: Decorated with pattern UN, an art deco floral design by Truda Carter c.1935 for use on pastel coloured grounds.

Backstamp: Impressed "POOLE ENGLAND" on the base with the letters and frame slightly raised. This backstamp was used between 1922 and 1934.

Painter: Signed with a mark by the paintress Marjorie Cryer, who worked at Poole from 1927 - 1940.

Condition: Very good condition. The white glaze has not adhered properly when firing and is patchy.
