Poole Pottery 1920's CSA Bowl Rare ZM Pattern


A smal ldecorative red earthenware Carter Stabler Adams bowl with an early and rarely found floral sprig pattern.

Dating: 1927 - 1929

Shape: A small round bowl measuring 5½" (14cm) in diameter and just under 2" (5cm) deep inscribed with shape number 904.

Design: Decorated with pattern ZM, a traditional art-deco floral sprig designed by Truda Adams in the 1920's.

Backstamp: Impressed CARTER STABLER ADAMS LTD, POOLE ENGLAND to base. This backstamp was used between 1925 - 1934.

Painter: Signed with a mark by the paintress Grace Burge who worked at Poole from 1926 - 1929 and used this mark from 1927.

Condition: Very good condition for age. All over light crazing.
