Poole Pottery 1930's CSA Vase Rare CL Pattern


A nicely proportioned red earthenware Carter Stabler Adams vase with an early and rarely found floral sprig pattern in blue and lilac.

Dating: 1926 - 1934

Shape: A 4½" (11cm) vase with a maximum diameter of 5" (12cm) inscribed with shape number 959.

Design: Decorated with pattern CL, a traditional art-deco floral sprig designed by Truda Adams in the 1920's.

Backstamp: Impressed CARTER STABLER ADAMS LTD, POOLE ENGLAND to base. This backstamp was used between 1925 - 1934.

Painter: Signed with a mark by the paintress Rene Hayes, who worked at Poole from 1926 - 1940 and again from 1945 - 1949.

Condition: Very good condition for age. All over light crazing.
