Poole Pottery 1930's Traditional Vase


A good hand-thrown white earthenware vase from the late 1930's featuring one of the most popular Truda Carter floral designs.

Dating: 1938 - 1940

Shape: A hand-thrown vase measuring 6½" (16cm) tall with a maximum diameter of 5" (12cm). Inscribed with shape number 442.

Design: Decorated with traditional floral pattern CS, a long running 1930's Truda Carter design that was simplified in 1951 and again in 1963

Backstamp: Impressed "POOLE ENGLAND" on the base with a mark used between 1924 and 1950.

Painter: Signed X by the paintress Gwen Haskins, who worked at Poole from 1938 - 1977 and was senior paintress from the 1950's

Condition: Excellent condition
