A striking red earthenware vase elaborately and fully decorated with a traditional Truda Carter art deco floral pattern.

Dating: 1924 - 1927

Shape: A hand-thrown vase measuring 6½" (16cm) tall with a maximum diameter of 5" (12cm). Inscribed with shape number 442.

Design: Decorated with an elaborate traditional floral pattern YO, designed by Truda Carter in the early 1920's. This pattern is one of a series featuring Fuschias.

Backstamp: Impressed "POOLE ENGLAND" on the base, this backstamp was used between 1924 and 1950.

Painter: Signed with a mark by the paintress Ethel Barratt, who worked at Poole from 1922 - 1927.

Condition: Very good condition for age. Minor production imperfections and crazing as is common. Marked to base with the hexagonal control mark.
