A very early version of the Truda Carter art deco Bluebird pattern on a small red earthenware vase elaborately decorated in the traditional style.

Dating: 1925 - 1927

Shape: A squat hand-thrown vase 3¾" (10cm) tall impressed with shape number 349

Design: Decorated with a great traditional pattern PB, one of a series of floral and bluebird patterns designed by Truda Carter in the late 1920's and early 1930's.

Backstamp: Impressed CARTER STABLER ADAMS LTD, POOLE ENGLAND to base. This backstamp was used between 1925 - 1934.

Painter: Signed with a mark by the paintress Ethel Barratt, who worked at Poole from 1922 - 1927.

Condition: Very good condition for age. Some light crazing.
