Poole Pottery 1930's Traditional Vase Leaping Deer


Features a fabulous and iconic art deco pattern of a leaping deer on a white earthenware vase with a pink base.

Dating: 1935 - 1936

Shape: A hand-thrown vase measuring 7" (17cm) tall with a maximum diameter of 4½" (11cm). Inscribed with shape number 438.

Design: Decorated with one of the iconic Poole art-deco traditional patterns featuring a leaping deer in an abstract floral background. Designed by Truda Carter. Marked with pattern code TZ.

Backstamp: Impressed "POOLE ENGLAND" on the base with backstamp 28, which was used between 1930 and 1996.

Painter: Signed with an X by the paintress Marian Jones, who worked at Poole from 1930 - 1936.

Condition: Very good condition. A small rough patch may be restoration.
